Updates

  • AID for AIDS Africa is planning its 12th Humanitarian Mission to Ghana in August of 2010. We are inviting all of our supporters to consider joining us on this great journey to the motherland. This year we wii be available for humanitarian, cultural and spiritual celebration activities. Etherean Mission, a metaphysical church in Ghana will have its 35th anniversary celebration during our trip. We will be planning more
trips in the future, possibly to Kenya and Zimbabwe. The cost of these trips is very reasonable and we provide excellent accommodations.
  • Vitamin Drive

VITAMIN & OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATION DRIVE

AFAA has connected with national networks of People Living with HIV in Ghana as well as the Children’s Homes supporting children with HIV. It is at the request of these organizations that AFAA is launching this opportunity for support. Donate one bottle of vitamins or over the counter medicines like anti diarrhea, anti fungal, pain medications as well as anti-biotic. HIV medications are NOW available to a limited number of people. It is still a challenge to keep healthy as nutrition continues to be an issue. These supplements will help people get and stay healthy even without the HIV medicines.  You can leave the medications at AIDS PROJECT of the EAST BAY (APEB) where AFAA has office space, 1320 Webster Oakland Ca. 94612 or contact Maurice Graham directly at 510 604-2178. We will deliver the medications in August as part of 12th Humanitarian Mission to our partners in Ghana. You might consider coming yourself. It is scheduled for mid August 2010. See this page for more information.

Key Milestones

  • New Substance Abuse Program takes off in Ghana

  • AID for AIDS Africa is supporting 12 step substance abuse programs in Ghana and the reception so far has been very promising. AFAA is also seeking partners to help start treatment programs for addiction as no real programs exist in Ghana and all of West Africa. Treatment of substance abuse can be very profitable but can
also help reduce the new HIV infections related to addictive behavior
